Blood Donor Program

Did you know that pet’s need blood too?  Our hospital treats numerous patients throughout the year that require blood or plasma transfusions vital to their recovery process. Pet’s that suffer from trauma, surgery, toxin ingestion, heat stroke, cancer and disease are the most commonly seen patients that require these services.

Our hospital maintains a blood donor program that is comprised of volunteer pets. Our blood bank adheres to strict standards in our quality control procedures and donor screening tests, to ensure safety and confidence in all our components. Our blood products include Whole blood, packed red blood cells, and frozen plasma. The availability of these blood products save lives.
